A platform for journalism
that needed a room.
Mixer was a container for whatever journalism needed next.
Built to support journalists, independent outlets, and storytellers across Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, Mixer grew directly out of the Outriders network. When the projects got too big to stay inside one organisation, Mixer was given its independence. It concluded as a platform in 2025, but its methodology continues through new formats and communities.

Mixer concluded as a platform. But the methodology continues through new workshop formats, has fed directly into the emergence of artistic journalism as a practice, and is now informing a new generation of AI journalism workshops.
The community — five years of shared rooms across Warsaw, Rzeszów, Sarajevo, Athens, Bucharest, Budapest, Minsk and Lviv — remains active on Telegram.
