airport restricted: Jersey Airport, evening of 30 October
diverted: 3
On the evenings of 30 and 31 October 2026, reports of unauthorised drone flights near Jersey Airport disrupted air traffic. According to police quoted by the media, the first report on 30 October arrived around 20:20, with further reports until about 22:30. Three inbound flights were diverted; one aircraft later landed. The airport said four aircraft could not land as scheduled on 31 October. These four disrupted arrivals do not automatically mean four diversions or cancellations. Operators were not identified. Model, unique drone count, links between the two evenings and any connection to the war or Russia remain undetermined. This entry covers a series of reports and confirmed disruption; it is not evidence of a military attack. Jersey is a Crown Dependency, not part of the United Kingdom or a separate NATO member; the UK is responsible for its defence. Exact coordinates are undetermined; the entry has no map point. On 2 November Jersey’s government confirmed that nine planned clinical procedures were cancelled and one planned non-emergency air ambulance transfer was aborted because of the weekend disruption. Some patients treated in England could not return as planned. Additional protective measures were introduced without disclosure of details; the investigation continues. These are consequences of the known 30-31 October incidents, without confirmation of another drone flight. Nine procedures do not establish nine injuries or a patient count. Operators and any link to the war remain undetermined. On 3 November Jersey’s government confirmed that specialist drone detection equipment was on the island. The airport was operating and police continued to investigate who was responsible for the weekend disruption.
