airspace incident: Romanian airspace over the Black Sea, evening sequence (2026-10-14)

/ date of the event

What happened

On 14 October 2026 at 20:04, two aerial targets entered Romanian airspace. Contact with one was lost over the sea. The other left at 20:13 towards Vâlcove in Ukraine, then flew towards Reni, where Ukrainian air defences destroyed it. Spanish F-18s were scrambled. One entry covers the two targets in this sequence. Their type and operator are undetermined. A crash of the first target or a link to the Yara J fire is not confirmed. A shootdown over Ukraine is not a Romanian shootdown. Exact coordinates are undetermined; the entry has no map point.
