What happened
On the evening of 27 September 2026, Romanian radar detected an object over Ukraine north of Chilia Veche. It then entered Romanian airspace through the Ceatalchioi area and moved along the border. Its signal disappeared near Somova after about 10 minutes. Two Romanian F-16s took off from Borcea. The public alert in Tulcea County ran from 20:35 to 22:05; the ministry announced a ground search for the morning of 28 September. Statement no. 308 does not confirm recovery, a crash, a model or an operator. Somova is the area where the signal was lost, not an established crash site. This is a separate episode from the overnight entry near Chilia Veche on 26-27 September. Exact event coordinates have not been established; the entry has no map point.
