airspace incident: Chilia Veche-Pardina area, Tulcea County (2026-09-26)
/ date of the event
What happened
On the night of 26-27 September 2026, Romania’s Defence Ministry confirmed by radar that an aerial object entered near Chilia Veche. It travelled almost parallel to the Chilia branch for several minutes; its signal was lost near Pardina. Two Spanish F-18s and a Romanian IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter took off. A RO-Alert for northern Tulcea County ran from 23:32 to 00:48. This is the alert period, not the duration of the incursion. Statement no. 307 does not confirm a crash, recovered debris, a model or an operator. Losing the signal does not establish a crash. This event is separate from the entry through Ceatalchioi on the evening of 27 September. Exact event coordinates have not been established; the entry has no map point.
