airspace incident: Dnestrovsc in the Transnistrian sector, on the border with Odesa region (2026-08-30)
/ date of the event
What happened
On 30 August 2026 at 15:50 the National Army's air operations service detected an aerial object that crossed the state border at Dnestrovsc in the Transnistrian sector, arriving from Lymanske in Odesa region. At 15:59 the object returned to Ukraine by the same route; it was in Moldovan airspace for nine minutes. The defence ministry wrote that the overflight followed that day's Russian air attacks on Ukraine, but gave neither the object's type nor who operated it; media called it a drone. The statement does not mention Romanian airspace - the Malcontent layer's note that the object spent nine minutes over Romania has no support in the source.
The word "Russian" in this description comes from the source's account of where the object was made or what type it is. It is not a finding about who sent it or on whose orders. This record carries no assessment of responsibility: see the attribution band below.

Source discrepancy
The Malcontent pin is titled as nine minutes over Romania. The Moldovan defence ministry's statement speaks of nine minutes in Moldovan airspace (Dnestrovsc, Transnistrian sector) and a return to Ukraine; Romania appears in no source. Moldova only adopted.
