airspace incident: Copanca, Căușeni District (2026-07-13)

/ date of the event

What happened

During a night attack on the Odesa region, at 01:03 a Russian drone violated Moldovan airspace and crashed near Copanca in Căușeni district, about 30 km from the border; a fire broke out and residents of a nearby building were evacuated. Moldova's defence ministry confirmed the violation and objected to the repeated incidents; the head of the regional emergency department Igor Calancea said the preliminary identification was a Geran-2 carrying about 50 kg of explosive.

The word "Russian" in this description comes from the source's account of where the object was made or what type it is. It is not a finding about who sent it or on whose orders. This record carries no assessment of responsibility: see the attribution band below.
