What happened
Moldova's defence ministry said a drone bearing Ukrainian markings crossed the border at 00:20 and then crashed and exploded in a field near the village of Lopatna, 55 km northeast of Chișinău. Ukrainian origin was indicated at first, but the Ukrainian foreign minister Andrii Sybiha said it was another Russian decoy drone. The incident came hours after President Maia Sandu called for counter-drone systems to be strengthened.
