infrastructure sabotage: electricity installations at La Chapelle-Saint-Ursin, Bourges and Saint-Florent-sur-Cher (Cher) (2026-04-06)

What happened

On the night of 6 to 7 April 2026 three electricity installations around Bourges were set on fire: a high-voltage substation at La Chapelle-Saint-Ursin, a transformer at Saint-Florent-sur-Cher and a pylon near the MBDA plant in Bourges. According to the Cher prefecture these were "coordinated acts of particular gravity": two transformers and a pylon were destroyed, about 3,000 households lost power for the night, the damage was put at several million euros and repairs could take several months; Enedis restored supply provisionally. The installations fed networks serving the KNDS and MBDA arms plants; the sources do not say whether the factories themselves lost power. A tag reading "Actions contre la guerre" was found at one site, and on 8 April a far-left group announced on the Indymedia platform that it had sabotaged the network; the authenticity of that claim has not been confirmed. On 11 April the Paris prosecutor's office took over the investigation, classifying the act as destruction by dangerous means and an attack on the fundamental interests of the nation. No perpetrator has been identified; one event for three Malcontent pins.
