What happened

At about 1.30 on the night of 14 March 2026, during a mass Russian attack on Ukraine, the Ukrainian side informed Moldova's Border Police of a Shahed-type drone that entered Moldovan airspace from the direction of Oleksandrivka over the village of Ucrainca, Căușeni district. The defence ministry's Air Operations Service confirmed observing the object, which it said left national airspace toward Novoselka in Ukraine; according to Ukrainian data the drone vanished from radar over Moldovan territory near Troițcoe, Cimișlia district. Defence minister Anatolie Nosatîi urged people not to approach any debris, and the foreign ministry condemned the overflight as a grave violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity. No damage or casualties were reported; no debris was found and no operator was named.

The word "Russian" in this description comes from the source's account of where the object was made or what type it is. It is not a finding about who sent it or on whose orders. This record carries no assessment of responsibility: see the attribution band below.
