On the night of 1 to 2 February 2026 military radar systems recorded further balloon-like objects entering Polish airspace from the direction of Belarus. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces said the flights were monitored and posed no threat to air traffic or citizens, and that the scale of the Belarusian side's hybrid incidents was clearly smaller than on previous nights; cooperation between the military and the security services allowed objects to be seized and persons suspected of the incidents to be detained. The statement gives neither the number of objects, nor the area of entry, nor any air traffic restriction. It was the third consecutive night of balloon incursions, after the nights of 30/31 January and 31 January/1 February. Who physically launched the balloons has not been established.

Dowództwo Operacyjne Rodzajów Sił Zbrojnych / 2026-02-02 / carrying out the act
The Operational Command wrote of "hybrid incidents by the Belarusian side" and at the same time of detentions of persons suspected of those incidents. The statement attributes the action to the Belarusian state as a whole, gives no basis for that assessment and does not settle who physically launched the balloons.
