Black Sea: drifting Sea Baby drone destroyed

What happened

On 3 December 2025, at the Coast Guard's request, EOD divers of the Romanian Navy's 39th Divers Centre, brought to the site by the vessel MAI 1107, identified a drifting object about 36 nautical miles east of Constanța, beyond territorial waters in Romania's exclusive economic zone, as a Sea Baby type sea drone. At about 13:00 they destroyed it by controlled detonation; MApN spoke of removing an object endangering navigation. The ministry did not say where the vessel came from. Ukraine's SBU, for which the type was developed, stated that it had lost no Sea Baby drone and that none had entered Romanian territorial waters. Where the vessel drifted from remains unestablished.

Malcontent dates the event 4 December 2025; the MApN statement quoted by Digi24 and Europa Liberă gives Wednesday 3 December, detonation at about 13:00. 3 December was adopted.
