On 3 December 2025 police were alerted when a resident of Pepeni village, Sângerei district, was carting a drone into the village on the trailer of a walking tractor; according to police he had found it in a field on Saturday 29 November and taken it for a toy. Two men had dismantled the aircraft and removed the engine; the parts were found at one man's home. Police said it was a Gerbera-type drone, used to deceive air defences and for observation, that it contained no explosive and posed no danger. The day of the report is what is recorded; police did not say when the drone fell or where it came from, and named no operator. No casualties were reported.
