On line 7 near Gołąb the overhead line was damaged and metal fittings were bolted to the rail with the aim of derailing a train. The driver of a PKP Intercity service from Świnoujście to Rzeszów carrying 475 people braked after a damage alert; falling overhead line components broke the outer panes of windows in one carriage. No one was injured. A phone wired to the track was also found nearby.

On 18 November 2025 the Prime Minister told parliament that the direct perpetrators were two Ukrainian citizens, one from Donbas, "cooperating with the Russian services". The perpetrators' nationality and their cooperation with those services are two separate claims; the statement set out no evidentiary basis.
No one was injured; the outer window panes of one carriage were broken.
