What happened
On the morning of 31 October 2022 a missile shot down by Ukrainian air defence fell on the northern edge of Naslavcea village, Ocnița District, on the border with Ukraine. According to Moldova's interior ministry it was a Russian missile; there were no casualties, windows in several houses were broken, the area was cordoned off and National Army sappers went to the site. The Ukrainian side reported that Russia had attacked the electrical components of the Dniester dam on the Ukrainian side that morning, 10 km from the Naslavcea dam; Moldova's defence ministry said its systems had detected no illegal flights in the country's airspace. Moldova's foreign ministry condemned the Russian attacks and declared a member of the Russian embassy in Chișinău persona non grata. The number of damaged houses was not given; the description of the missile as Russian comes from the interior ministry's statement.
