
Born as an offspring of PDF CEE in Warsaw, PDF Ukraine was rooted in the specific post-Maidan moment of Ukrainian civic society. It operated under the TransparenCEE network, connecting Kyiv to a global family of democratic innovators.
The forum served as an annual bridge in Kyiv, bringing together technologists, civic activists, government officials, and journalists. It was a space dedicated to exploring how technology could accelerate democratic reforms, transparency, and governance in Ukraine.
The inaugural Kyiv launch at Master Klass House. Established the forum as a critical space for the post-Maidan civic tech community.
Drew 200+ attendees over two days. Highlighted the first anniversary of Ukraine's UNDP-supported e-declaration system for public officials.
Focused on scaling digital tools for local transparency and strengthening the bond between technologists and activists.
Explored smart cities and digital journalism as pillars of democratic resilience in a challenging regional context.
Planned for March 3–4. Focused on e-voting, cybersecurity, and electoral integrity. Cancelled due to the full-scale invasion.

The edition planned for March 3–4, 2022 in Kyiv was meant to discuss the "Future of the Elections". Instead, the community shifted its focus to survival, digital defense, and documenting the realities of the full-scale invasion.
